DREAM Act Defeated

FAIR field staff, donors and activists across the country swung into action on Tuesday, Sep. 21, to block the DREAM act – the latest attempt at amnesty by open border special interests like La Raza, SEIU, and their elected allies on Capitol Hill.

Thanks to their intense grassroots efforts, the Defense Authorization bill failed 56-43.

Without a floor debate, Senators Reid and Durbin were unable to offer the DREAM Act as an amendment.

This is great news for true immigration reformers!

After the motion failed, Senators Reid and Durbin took to the Senate floor to angrily denounce the Senators who voted no. They accused their colleagues of not having the courage to bring the DREAM Act to a vote and vowed that this would not end the fight to pass this amnesty legislation.

Many political observers feel that the next attempt to pass amnesty legislation will come during the lame-duck session of Congress, which will begin after the election and end before new members take office in January.

Reader Feedback from Last Poll: Tell Us Your Opinion of the new film Machete

poll results

"Despicable film and subject matter. I would not give the filmmakers one dime of my money to see this. Odd that people have condemned 'violence' in Mel Gibson's films (not that I'm defending him) but the same people fawn over anything depicting violence which glorifies their liberal causes."

"Read reviews in local paper - Reviewer said it deserved an X rating because of violence and nudity."

"I will not support this kind of garbage with my hard earned money, that is 15% less than what it was two years ago. A friend of mine saw it, and we discussed."
