House Immigration Subcommittee Focuses on Worksite Enforcement

email imageThe House Subcommittee on Immigration Policy and Enforcement held its first hearing of the 112th Congress last week to discuss the importance of worksite enforcement. The hearing, titled “Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Worksite Enforcement Up to the Job?” focused on the effectiveness of worksite enforcement programs, such as I-9 audits, E-Verify, and the ICE Mutual Agreement between Government and Employers (IMAGE) program.

Lawmakers Introduce Birthright Citizenship Bills

email imageFederal and state lawmakers introduced legislation last week that tackles the issue of birthright citizenship. In Arizona, state Senator Ron Gould and state Representative John Kavanagh introduced two bills to change how Arizona defines state citizenship. (Arizona Central, January 27, 2011) The first bill seeks to define an Arizona citizen as someone lawfully domiciled in Arizona who is born in the U.S. and is subject to the jurisdiction thereof. (SB 1309; HB 2561) The second bill directs the State of Arizona into a state compact, subject to Congressional approval, under which the member states will issue different birth certificates for those who qualify as citizens of the state. (HB 2562; SB 1308) In developing the legislation, Gould and Kavanagh worked with Senate President Russell Pearce, who has been active on this issue for years and led the effort to pass SB 1070 in Arizona last year. These bills are part of an agreement made between state legislators from numerous states to work together to eliminate the practice of granting birthright citizenship regardless of the immigration status of the parents.

Mexican Teen’s Family Sues U.S. Border Agent

email imageThe family of a Mexican teenager killed by a border patrol agent last summer is suing the U.S. government for $25 million in damages.  The lawsuit, filed in El Paso earlier last week on behalf of the teenager’s family, accuses the U.S. Border Patrol agent of wrongful death and civil rights violations.

Obama Promotes Defunct Immigration Legislation in State of the Union Address

email imageLess than a month after the Democratic-controlled Senate rejected the DREAM Act, President Obama used his State of the Union address last Tuesday to renew the call for its passage. There are “hundreds of thousands of students excelling in our schools who are not U.S. citizens,” he said. Many of these “live every day with the threat of deportation.” Urging Congress to tackle illegal immigration “once and for all”, the president said he is “prepared to work with Republicans and Democrats to protect our borders, enforce our laws and address the millions of undocumented workers who are now living in the shadows.”

ALIPAC Sets New Records Educating Americans About Illegal Immigration

ALIPAC
Friends of ALIPAC,

We are very pleased to announce that ALIPAC has shattered all three of our standing web traffic records in January of 2011! We have set new records in our quest to educate more Americans about illegal immigration and the need to enforce our existing immigration and border laws.

On January 25, our old daily and hourly web traffic records fell and we set new records with 301,756 pages of information displayed for the day. Our busiest hour ever was between 2pm - 3pm EST, when 19,630 pages were displayed.

These high and growing web traffic levels have also placed us in position to set a new monthly web traffic record today. We had just set a new record last month in December of 2010. That record of 5,699,210 will fall this afternoon!

It is hard to even imagine over 5.7 million pages of information being displayed in one short month!

Each page of information about illegal immigration, border security, legislation, activism, crimes committed by illegal aliens, etc... displayed is a chance for another American to become informed on these issues.

The reason more people are visiting ALIPAC.us than ever before is because this issue is now on fire in the states.

With your help, state lawmakers and their staffers are searching the web for articles and information about illegal immigration, state budgets, state legislation etc...

The combined work and activism of many dedicated Americans over the last six years is really starting to pay political dividends.

Our core mission is to continue to build, manage, and maintain the world's largest archive of information in existence on the topic of illegal immigration.

Thank you for your support and activism, which has made this milestone possible.

We have obtained a level of visibility and popularity that a very small percentage of websites ever achieve.

America's awareness level and the increased level of concern about illegal immigration is headed to new heights in 2011 with ALIPAC.us leading the way.

More great things to come.

DREAM Act Amnesty Fails Final Hurdle in
Lame Duck Congress

As the lame duck session of the 111th Congress limped to the finish line, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and out-going Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) made a last ditch effort to enact a sweeping illegal alien amnesty, known as the DREAM Act.

Immigration and Our National Treasures

Federation for American Immigration Reform

Did You Know?

These are not wild assumptions or theoretical propositions. These statistics are REAL! FAIR’s latest study, Immigration, Population Growth and the Chesapeake Bay, takes a close look at the impact of immigration and overpopulation on the Bay and how it manifests in localized ways.

Federation for American Immigration Reform

As one of the world’s great natural resources, the Chesapeake Bay is the largest estuary in the United States and home to 3,600 different plant and animal species. Today, the Bay is one of the most endangered areas in the U.S.

Federation for American Immigration Reform

With 17 million people currently living in the watershed, the resultant pollution is putting a severe strain on the Bay—threatening the survival of indigenous wildlife as well as posing serious health risks to humans.

As part of our ongoing mission to examine all aspects of immigration, including its impact on our fragile environment, this study provides a close look at the results of sustained high-volume immigration, and recommends immigration policies that will best serve American environmental, societal, and economic interests today and into the future.

We hope that we can count on your support today so that we can continue to offer our original research and unbiased reports on this issue. This is a great opportunity to get involved and to help us advocate for sensible solutions to this debate.
