| Can we really trust the Administration to enforce our immigration laws? Dear FAIR supporter, A year ago the Executive Branch, with the full support of the Democratic Party, cast aside its duty to enforce the law when it began a program in direct defiance of our immigration laws. "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals," or DACA, grants "relief" from U.S. immigration laws to many illegal aliens under 30. In just a year, over half a million illegal aliens have been handed an "administrative amnesty" without the consent of Congress or the American people. These illegal aliens now have the privilege to live and work legally in the United States -- and are taking drivers licenses and even in-state tuition in many states! Meanwhile, programs to verify workplace eligibility and secure our border are put on the back burners. This is important to remember as Congress resumes their amnesty debate this fall. We have immigration laws on the book with tough interior and border enforcement measures. But our immigration laws mean nothing if Congress doesn't hold the Executive Branch accountable for upholding them. There are, of course, special interest groups -- led by Big Business and Silicon Valley, and allied by left-leaning ethnic groups -- that don't want these laws enforced. They're well-financed, well-connected, and pushing hard for Congress to solidify and expand the Executive Branch's administrative amnesty. It's up to FAIR to stop this amnesty push and demand that Congress hold the Executive Branch accountable for faithfully enforcing our immigration laws.
