During a legislative markup session Tuesday morning, the House Judiciary Committee approved by a voice vote H.R. 3992, legislation that would expand the E-2 visa program to include Israeli nationals.
Last week, ICE Director John Morton offered to negotiate the terms under which Cook County, IL would honor ICE detainers. Morton's offer, made via a letter dated Feb. 13, 2012 to Cook County Board President, Toni Preckwinkle, was two-fold.
Baltimore Mayor, Stephanie Rawlings-Black, issued an executive order Friday commanding city agencies and personnel to turn a blind-eye to immigration law violators.
On Wednesday, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security held a hearing on President Obama's proposed budget cuts to Customs and Border Protection, included in the Department of Homeland Security's budget proposal for FY2013.
