Send us your Questions or Comments About Immigration Send them to us. Here's my feedback. Reader Feedback from Last Poll: Rate President Obama's Immigration Speech! 79% rated it "very bad"; 12% "bad"; the remainder were split between "average" "good" "very good" and "other" "He 'blended' illegal immigration with legal immigration. These are two very different topics ." "I am an original supporter of the President and want to continue to do so to the best of my ability. Being from Nevada and a member of the Democratic Party I also support Harry Reid. The one thing I do not support in the Democratic platform is the notion that they might ramrod an Executive Order on AMNESTY. As a legally admitted immigrant I take that as a slap in the face." "He did a great job of blaming others. I just don't know why we can't make sure through E-verify that they are legals before they can be hired and find a place to live. If their income and housing would dry up, then they would all go home or try to come back in the country the right way." "Obama stated that he wanted to simply give amnesty to illegals. He listed all the organizations that he had consulted with. All of these were amnesty advocates. He apparently did not consult with any opponents of amnesty. He did not offer any specific plan or ideas about how to control illegal immigration. He said that the border could not be controlled. If he could not do the job, he should have resigned. In general he showed that he has no ideas on how to control immigration, other than open borders." "The president and other amnesty supporters continuously misrepresent the Immigration problem in order to achieve amnesty. The president stated that amnesty is very unpopular but so is the idea of deporting millions of illegal aliens. This is his rationale for amnesty. He conspicuously ignores the fact that a third option exists - attrition through enforcement. " | |||||||
